Lesson Info Cancellation Policy for Pottery LessonsAt The Crafting Chicken, we understand that sometimes plans change and you may need to cancel your pottery lesson. To ensure fairness and accommodate everyone effectively, we have established the following cancellation policy.Notice of Cancellation48-Hour Notice: A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for all cancellations to qualify for a full refund, so that we can try and find someone to fill your space. Cancellations can be made via email or in person.RefundsFull Refund: If you provide at least 48 hours’ notice, you will receive a full refund for the cancelled lesson/s. No Refund: Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled lesson will not be eligible for a refund. Inherent Risks: Even with proper techniques and careful handling, some pottery pieces may break, crack, or warp during firing.Studio ResponsibilityPrecautions: We ensure that all pottery pieces are handled with care and fired according to best practices. Expertise: Our staff members are experienced and knowledgeable about the kiln firing process and work diligently to minimize risks.Student ResponsibilityAcknowledgment: By participating in pottery lessons and using our kiln services, students acknowledge the inherent risks involved in the kiln firing process. This policy outlines the measures we take to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants during pottery lessons and studio visits.Studio Management:Ensure that all health and safety measures are implemented and maintained. Conduct regular risk assessments and update the policy as necessary.Visitors and Students:Follow the instructions and guidelines provided below. Report any health and safety concerns to The Crafting Chicken immediately. Wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment as required.General Safety MeasuresRisk Assessment: Regular risk assessments are conducted to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. First Aid: First aid kits are available on-site Emergency Procedures: Clear emergency procedures are in place, including fire evacuation plans. Emergency exits are clearly marked and accessible. Accident Reporting: All accidents, injuries, or near misses must be reported to The Crafting Chicken immediately and recorded in the accident log.Studio HygieneCleaning: The studio is cleaned regularly to prevent the build-up of clay and glaze dust. Hand Hygiene: Hand washing facilities with soap and water are available. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): PPE, such as aprons and face masks, is provided and must be worn as required.Specific Guidelines for Pottery LessonsAttire: Students should wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. Long hair should be tied back. Supervision: Students must follow the instructions of the instructor at all times. Use of equipment without supervision is prohibited.
